Siam Country Club Pattaya “PLANTATION”
Siam Country Club is the first privately owned golf course in Thailand, and opened in February 1972.  In March 2006, Siam Country Club began a total renovation project of its existing 35 year old 18-hole golf course, which is today known as Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course.  At the same time, a construction of a new 27-hole golf course in a property 6 Km near by was launched.

In March 2007, Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course was reopened, and was immediately courted to showcase an international caliber championship tournament, the Honda LPGA Thailand 2007 in October.  The tournament not only has proven to be a tremendous success but has also shown to the world the beauty of the golf course.

In March 2008, the new 27-hole golf course is opened with the name Siam Country Club Pattaya Plantation.  Both golf courses are designed by a well known Arizona based, Schmidt & Curley Design Inc.  The “PLANTATION” name was given in the honor of the historic Sugar Cane, Tapioca, and Pineapple plantations, and each 9-hole is named accordingly.

From the inception of the projects, the philosophies on the renovation of the Old Course and the construction of the Plantation are crystal clear.  The Old Course will remain a flush green, mature and traditional classic tree-lined golf course.  Even the interior decorations, utilizing the original structure, from the lobby to restaurant, and locker rooms are unmistakably soft, subtle, and exclusive.  The Plantation, on the other hand, must be uniquely different, modern, and refreshing from any other golf courses in the region.  An architectural “Bird Wing” clubhouse sits high on natural rolling hills clearly overlooking the golf course and a breath taken view of Pattaya Ocean.

A strong emphasis is also given in the upkeep of the golf courses to fulfill the desire of having two truly international championship golf courses.  Choosing the right strand of grass is the beginning.  “Novotek” ultradwarf Bermuda grass is chosen for the greens.  The rest of the grass areas are grassed with the “Seashore Paspalum”, a revolutionary strand typically used in tropical and subtropical climates in coastal areas.   Groundcovers such as Red Fountain grass, Love grass and Yellow Peanut grass are widely planted and blended into native grasses and trees of natural surrounding, help making the landscape impeccable beauties.

Championship quality and design golf courses, impeccably natural beauties, stylish clubhouses of modern comforts, and a second to none attitude set Siam Country Club apart from any golf courses in Thailand.
